Fabrication Shop Foreman

Dielco Industrial Contractors is a full-service specialty contractor primarily with structural steel and miscellaneous metals. We design, fabricate, and erect structures throughout Ontario. We are a 100% family-owned company with a desire for growth. We service the private commercial, public, institutional, and industrial markets.

We are looking for a talented, enthusiastic, and experienced Shop Foreman to join our team in London, Ontario.

This position requires an individual who has supervisory experience 3-5 years in a metal production shop as well as 5-10 years in the trade of metal fabrication. The responsibilities of this position include interpreting blueprints for the assembly of steel handrails, stairs, platforms, structural steel, tanks, equipment frames, etc. Typical hours of work for this position are Monday through Friday, 7:00am – 3:15pm.

Specific duties and responsibilities include:

  • Ability to interpret structural steel drawings and apply them to fabrication.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Problem solving skills and the ability to lead and manage multiple projects / team members in a fast pace environment.
  • Maintain fabrication schedules and production requirements.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Inspect materials, components, weld quality and equipment for defects or malfunctions.
  • Operate overhead cranes and rigging.

 

Requirements:

  • Experience in a similar foreman position 3-5 years.
  • Assign work to team members and hold expectations / accountability for quality of work and timelines.
  • Ability to adapt to changes in job scope and have good organizational skill.
  • Works well as part of team.
  • Work additional overtime hours when required.
  • Solid knowledge of the use of Personal Protective Equipment, machine guards, and safe working procedures.
  • Attention to detail a must.
