Mechanical Site Foreman

We are looking for a talented, enthusiastic, and experienced Mechanical Site Foreman to join our team in London, Ontario.

 

REPORTS TO: Project Manager

SUPERVISES: Pipefitters / Plumbers / Welders

 

OVERVIEW:

The Mechanical Site Foreman is responsible for all aspects of managing the safety, quality and productivity of the project site, including preparing the work schedule, ensuring compliance with all safety requirements, supervising employees and coordinating with project stakeholders.

 

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Review project scope / drawings with Project Manager to determine the requirements of the job and schedule;
  • Coordinate with Project Manager for the preparation of the required tools and equipment;
  • Perform/review risk management with Project Manager to minimize project risks;
  • Coordinate employee daily activities based on the required skills to complete each portion of the job;
  • Ensure employees arrive on time each day, adhere to beak / finish times and work in a safe and effective manner;
  • Ensure schedule and quality is maintained for the duration of the job;
  • Mediate and resolve issues that may arise between employees on the job site;
  • Implement and enforce safe work practices as per Dielco Health & Safety Policies;
  • Ensure site and employee adherence to all Ontario Health & Safety Act requirements, checks, forms and other documentation;
  • Complete a general review each day of the work environment/equipment to verify that no hazardous conditions exist;
  • Coordinate with any sub trades as per the schedule and ensure they are operating in a safe manner, including Dielco’s Health & Safety Procedures and site specific requirements;
  • Keep records of time for each of the Dielco employees for the project;
  • Regularly report to the Project Manager on the status of the project as well as any new developments or issues arising on the project;
  • Monitor project progress to ensure work is being completed according to plans, specifications and timeline.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must:

  • Have complete command and knowledge of all types of piping construction and joining techniques. Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel, Vic, Threaded, PVC, Copper, etc.
  • Be able to read and interpret construction drawings from all disciplines.
  • Be able to perform complex piping layouts and develop accurately dimension isometric fabrication drawings.
  • Have strong leadership and motivational skills. Be a reliable self-starter, ready to work under pressure and lead by example.
  • Have a deep dedication to quality and safety on the construction site.
  • Have strong written and spoken communication skills.
  • Be proficient with Microsoft office applications Word, Excel, etc.

 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent Required.
  • Valid Drivers Licence
  • Valid Certificate of Qualification (C of Q) in Plumbing or Steam fitting
  • 5+ years Project foreman experience in industrial piping.
